Podcast > Pronoun > Us

Pronouns have the potential to shape who we are, outline what we do, and influence who we become. In this message, Ed Young shows us how the power of one pronoun can either damage our self-esteem or reveal the truth of who we really are.

Summer Sermon Series

As summer closes in and families head out of town, don't miss your opportunity to focus on the single adults in your church. Consider a weekend series about dating and relationships along with some special events like a sand volleyball tournament, a concert/coffeehouse gathering or a picnic right after the service. Since singles don't revolve around a school calendar, your attendance can actually increase rather than drop because you're attracting new singles.

Ed will often say that Fellowship Church could not be the church it is today without single adults. You cannot put a price tag on the energy and vitality they bring to the table. Ideally, churches should represent the demographics of their communities, and singles make up about 50% of the population in most U.S. metropolitan areas. Likewise, singles fill about 50% of the seats at Fellowship Church each weekend, and even more than that, they serve in hundreds of volunteer positions throughout the church.

And for the married people who are attending a singles series, here's how we promote it, "Over the next three weeks I'm talking about dating. Now some of you married people are thinking, ‘Well I can skip for the next few weeks!' No you can't, because you have children who need to know this stuff, you work with singles, and you have single neighbors. You need this to help you minister to the singles in your life."

With all the upcoming weddings in June, it might be the perfect time to launch I Don't: Singles and dig in to what not to do before you say, "I do." You can find that and other CreativePastors singles series here.

In this message, Ed Young helps clear up the distortion and reveals the right sources we should turn to in order to help us see the person God has designed us to be.

Da Vinci Decoded

One look at the morning news programs reveals that the Da Vinci Code is the hot topic of conversation these days. If the May 19 release of this film has you looking for a way to draw the line between truth and fiction at your church, you might consider an interview-style weekend message. During our Decoding the Da Vinci Code series, Ed Young uses this technique with his brother, Ben, who has studied the subject at length. With these two talks, they were able to address the questions that arise from the book and provide a biblical framework for discussing it with the people in our lives. To reinforce these truths and equip church members, we featured Da Vinci Code talking points on our website with answers to questions such as, "Was Jesus married?", "Did Constantine invent the deity of Christ?", and "Who was Mary Magdalene?" For an in-depth look at the topic, check out our Decoding the Da Vinci Code resources.

Capital Campaign Update: Commitment Weekend

After much prayer and preparation, our Fellowship Church family commited to the Town and Country Campaign this weekend. Ed's message, Return on Investment, wrapped up our In God We Trust series and set the tone for commitment by focusing on complete vs. partial obedience as seen in the life of Abraham.

It was so exciting to watch those coming forward with their commitment cards and consider what God will do with the offerings - both in the future of his church and in the lives of those giving. Many families also took advantage of the ability to make their commitment online - check it out here. Next weekend, we will have the opportunity to bring our first Town and Country offering to the weekend service.

Podcast > In God We Trust > Return on Investment

Throughout history, God has called on men and women to live out their trust in him. The same is true in our lives today. But when we step up and trust God with both the intangibles and tangibles, how does he respond? In this message, Ed Young reflects back on the life of one of the most profound characters in the Bible—Abraham. And as we look to Abraham’s life and discover what it means to fully invest our trust in God, we see that the blessings God provides in return will last not only for today, but also for eternity.

Capital Campaign - A Whole Church Approach

During our In God We Trust series, the weekend messages at FC have offered creative and biblical views on giving with a special emphasis on our Town and Country Capital Campaign. To support this effort, key ministries throughout the church are reinforcing the vision in various ways:

  • All of our small groups are currently working through our stewardship study, In the Zone.
  • In our Children's Ministry, FC Kids, not only are they teaching age-appropriate lTownncountrypromoessons about giving, but they also handed out an "Above and Beyond - Town and Country" bracelet and bank at the beginning of the campaign. The bracelet is a reminder for the children to save their change in the bank, which will be collected at the end of the campaign.
  • We're also sending out a weekly email to provide updates and refresh the vision. The emails link to a 5-day prayer guide on our website.

There's lots more going on, but this gives you a taste of the different ways we've been able to build excitement throughout the church.

Podcast > In God We Trust > Dividends

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son…” God gave. To fully trust in God, we must first understand the fact that generosity is at the very core of who God is. And to put our trust into action, we must reflect that generosity in our own lives. In this message, Ed Young shows us that when we decide to step out on trust, when we decide to sow the seeds of trust, the dividends will be greater than we could have ever imagined—both in our lives and in the lives of those around us.
